The American Embassy in Niamey, Niger recently had us help design and make custom challenge coins for their office. These items are given to heads of state and other dignitaries that visit the office as a welcome gift. Coins have also been made to coincide with different campaigns or initiatives that the embassy is trying to get underway. The coins are visual reminders of common goals that have been set by the embassy.
The U.S. Embassy in Niamey carries on the daily dialogue between our two governments. A primary goal of U.S. activity in Niger is the promotion of democratic institutions and good governance. This is reflected in the coins that we created for the customer that requested them. Creating a strong symbolic item for governmental agencies to hand out is important to us.
Using Photos to Tie Things Together
The coin that we created for the U.S. Embassy in Niamey is unique because we took an actual photograph of the embassy and printed it onto the front of the coin. The other side shows a desert scene that is common to the region. The beautiful oblique line edge adds instant value and appeal to this coin.
Images Help Draw Interest in a Group or Organization
Photos and images add instant appeal to custom challenge coins. When used as a focal point they get people interested in the group or organization being represented. This can help you gain supporters and even build your reputation.
