A Look at the Design Progression of a 3D Challenge Coin

3D challenge coins are becoming more and more popular with our customers.  We have noticed an increase in the amount of 3D molds especially from our military customers.  Military coins with 3D molds have an incredible look and feel that cannot be matched.

We receive all types of inquiries.  Sometimes, customers have professional artwork ready to go and other times we get written descriptions only.  The great thing about Challenge Coins Plus is that we are happy to work with you know matter if you have artwork or you don’t.

In the example here, we wanted to show the steps that happen once you submit your artwork to us.  As you can see here, this customer put together some rough artwork and emailed it over to us with some hand written notes as seen in item “A”.  Once our art department received the file, they began to draw a free digital proof of what both sides would look like based on the customers artwork and notes (see item “B”).  Item “C” shows you what the 3D mold looks like once our production department hand carves the mold.  This will be used in conjunction with the other side of the coin and will be put together to make your one of a kind coin.

3D molds have the ability to show so much depth, and detail.  Just looking at item “C” here, you can see the details in the eagle’s feathers, the leaves on the branches, and even the dimension on the blades of the arrows.  The more unusual and attractive a coin is, the more likely the recipient will want to display it in a place where others can see it.
