  3. Honus Wagner, 1909, remains the most valuable baseball card.
  4. Independence Kansas is the home of the first "lighted" pro baseball game in 1880.
  5. Independence Kansas was the home of the first pro baseball game lit by electrical light. The Independence Producers beat the City of David, 9-1.
  6. The highest score in a game of baseball is recorded as Niagara University vs. Columbia, 209-10 in 1869.
  7. The only pitcher who won 500 plus games is Cy Young.
  8. Do to the shortage of players during the war years, 1944 became the year the youngest baseball player, and pitcher, played for the Cincinnati Reds for 2/3 of an unremarkable inning at the age of 15, Joe Nuxall.
  9. Satchel Page was the oldest Major League baseball player, playing until 1965 and the age of 59.
  10. Some of the longest hit balls in baseball history include Babe Ruth, at 470 feet, Cecil Fielder, 502 feet, and Mickie Mantle's home run hit that was reported to have traveled 736 feet (maybe).
