The Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, also commonly known as Shriners and abbreviated A.A.O.N.M.S. was established in 1870. It is an appendant body to Freemasonry, and is based in the United States. Every year, Shriners from across the country gather for regional meetings. Among other things, the host city is responsible to design and supply the lapel pin that will be handed out at the conference.
Chapters from all over the designated region meet to discuss the following year’s plans as well as fellowship with other Shriners. These groups are responsible for many of the large charities that are present today like the Shriners Hospital for Children which is located in Tampa, FL. They also have a big presence in parades around the country.
Lapel pins like this one are great at helping attendees remember conferences from years past. Having each of the states represented allows all attendees to feel like an important part of the group. These items go greatly with the Shriner’s red fezzes that they are known for wearing.
The pin that we featured in this blog has many colors but we can also create designs that use no colors at all. We call this type of pin die struck. The only color you see is the plating color. This is typically gold or silver but it can be any of our other options as well. Whatever type of pin you envision, we can create it for you.
Custom lapel pins are versatile. Here are a few things that clubs and organizations use them for:
- To welcome new members. This gives them the encouragement that they need to be active in the group.
- To reward good deeds. Individuals that show promise can be rewarded with an attractive, custom pin.
- To raise funds. Donors get rewarded for their efforts as well with their own Shriner pins.
- To educate the community. If the Shriner group is involved with a particular charity, they can customize the message on the pins to reflect this.
