The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement men and women who enjoy riding motorcycles. In the Spring of 1974, several law enforcement officers from the Bangor, Maine (USA) area met and formed a small, local motorcycle club. The rest, as they say, is history.
The Blue Knights have more than 635 chapters and 20,490 members in 29 countries. This goes to show you that the interest in motorcycles remains strong. We were approached by the group to create custom challenge coins for its members. Items like these are becoming more and more popular with this group just like they are with firefighter club, Fire and Iron.
The Blue Knights make these coins for many reasons. Here are a few:
- To hand out to club members
- To sell as fundraisers for their local charities
- To remember lost members
- To have a visual token of a particular benefit ride
- To give away to other Blue Knights that they meet along their rides
Coins Are So Versatile That No Two Clubs’ Coins Are the Same
Custom challenge coins are so versatile that no two clubs will ever see theirs being sold elsewhere. That’s because we create each one from scratch. Even though we have a gallery of samples pictured on our website, we only use them as examples. This gives you an idea of what we are capable of creating.
Custom Shapes Help Accentuate Challenge Coins
Coins don’t have to be round, they can be shaped like shields, or any other custom shape that you can imagine. This makes them interesting to look at and real conversation pieces. If you walk around with cool shaped challenge coins, people will take notice.
Don’t forget to order your acrylic coin cases to go with your custom challenge coins. Should you present them at a ceremony, this detail adds a great touch. Recipients of the coins will feel honored by the gesture.
