Custom Embroidered Patches are a Great Addition to any EMS Uniform

In addition to police and fire department patches, we have been providing many Emergency Medical Services (EMS) companies with custom embroidered patches.  Generally, the EMS companies contact Embroidered Patches Plus looking for a custom patch to place on their uniform sleeves.  The patches are designed to represent who they are and what they do.

Originality in a Shared Purpose Most EMS companies’ patches share one common symbol, the Star of Life.  This is the symbol that most of us recognize or refer to as the “medical” symbol. The use of this emblem is one design feature that few, if any, EMS companies can avoid.

However, just because these companies share the universally recognized logo does not mean that the other elements within their custom patches cannot be truly unique. For example, the custom EMS patch displayed here utilizes the star of life symbol, but is markedly unique because of how the colors were used in the embroidered patch design.

A solid white star sets the background for a golden rod with a blue snake wrapped around it.  Behind that, lies a patriotic red, white and blue color filled circle that helps the star of life symbol really stand out. The patch design comes to completion with a black outer edge with the EMS company’s name split between the top and bottom of the patch.

Border and Backing Options

Some additional patch features, which we believe are important to mention, are the edge and type of backing that was used. This EMS patch has a nice thick merrowed border which is the most popular of our two border styles. It is typically used on basic shaped patches.  The backing used on this patch was a PVC backing. PVC is simply a thin coat of plastic added to the back of the patch to seal the threads and the help the patch maintain its high quality look. As our standard backing option, PVC is used on all patch orders unless a different backing option is specified.
