Every year, we have comic enthusiasts contact us to create custom patches for the events that they attend. One of the biggest, Motor City Comic Con, takes place from May 13-15 this year. The patch that we created for the 2011 event features Darth Maul from the Star Wars films and Wolverine from Marvel Comics. These two iconic characters are easily recognizable.

Once at the con, our customers will be able to easily trade their patch with other fans because of its awesome design. In fact, the details of the embroidery really capture the essence of each of the characters on the patch. The border which is cut to shape using a technique we call “hot cut” adds to the design. Fans from around the world enjoy collecting and displaying their favorite comic book superhero or villain on their clothing, hat or bag.

What to Expect From This Year’s Event

In addition to plenty of time to mingle with other comic enthusiasts, those attending the event can meet their favorite guests like Brent Spiner, “Data” from Star Trek:The Next Generation and Kristin Bauer, who plays “Pam” on True Blood as well as comic book artists from DC, Marvel, Image, Megaton, and Dark Horse.

There will be an Anime Room to visit, speakers to listen to, and dealers to buy from. There will also be plenty of opportunity to meet and trade memorabilia with other collectors. This makes for a fun and exciting event for people of all ages.

The prices for a one day ticket vary depending on age. Children under the age of five are free with a paid adult, while six to ten year olds cost $10 with a paid adult, and attendees age eleven and up pay $22. A three day pass for adults is $50 and Sunday is Kids Day. All children under the age of twelve get in free with a paid adult.
