Using More Than One Edge Option on Your Custom Challenge Coin

We are finding that more and more customers want to know about our edging options.  The most common question that we, at Challenge Coins Plus, are being asked is, “Can our custom challenge coin have a flat edge on one side and a custom edge on the other?” Our answer to this question is, “yes”.  We will easily and gladly fulfill this and many other customization requests.

Keystone Automotive Operations, Inc. Takes Two

We used this design option on a custom coin created for Keystone Automotive Operations Inc. The silver plated, double-sided coin displaying the company’s logo includes custom text and relevant company information in addition to the flat and oblique line edges.

Now that you have seen how using a standard and different type of edge adds character to the coin, it is only a matter of deciding which edging options are best for you.  To help with this we have separated our selections into two categories, free edge options and custom edge options.

Variety and Character at Little Cost

Our free edge options include Flat, Spur ,and Rope. The front of the Keystone Automotive coin is an example of a flat edge.  A rope edge, just as the name suggests, replicates the angular lines you would see in a rope.  A spur edge consists of raised metal that curves, extends and comes to a point creating half-circle shaped recessed areas between its points.

The custom edges are Bezel, Oblique Line, Cross Cut, and Reed.  The bezel edge creates a wave like affect along the coins edge.  The oblique line, as seen on the back of Keystone Automotive’s coin, is made of angular slits.  The cross cut edge consists of a series of cuts intersecting one another and creating diamond shaped patterns.  Finally the reed is an edge that may be very familiar to you as it is very similar to the edge used on U.S. currency, usually quarters.

Our custom edges are $.35 per side. To get a better idea of how these options look, please view the custom edges section of our Coin Pricing Page at http://www.challengecoinsplus.com/pricing.html#options.

Challenge Coins Plus takes pride in offering unlimited coin design options.  Mixing and matching the types of edges you use on your coin will add variety and character.  Feel free to call us at 1-800-252-0904 or email us with your questions at info@challengecoinsplus.com.
