Non-Profit’s Riding Program is Fondly Remembered with Custom Name Patch and Challenge Coins

HorseAbility’s Long Island, New York location is one of the only centers accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). It is known for its use of horses as a means of therapy for children and adults with special needs.

The center’s therapeutic riding program serves individuals who are physically challenged as well as cognitively and emotionally disabled by promoting physical, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.  Embroidered Patches Plus was able to help HorseAbility capture their participants’ treasured moments on horseback in a single custom patch design.

Custom name patches like the one we created for HorseAbility invites members to relive the good memories and feelings they experienced while horseback riding and participating in other activities. We were able to customize a patch that features:

• The United States flag as a patriotic and supportive background image.

• HorseAbility’s four legged hero with a happy rider mounted on its back.

• The rider surrounded by two of the center’s volunteers who proudly announce their military affiliations.

• The organizations name, catch phrase, and web address boldly printed along the curved edge.

Custom Challenge Coin Design Elements

Though the patch itself says a lot about the non-profit, the creativity did not stop there.  We were able to propose and design custom challenge coins for HorseAblilty’s annual gala.  The mission of the event was to raise money to fund their programming as well as thank donors and volunteers for their time.  The facility felt like they needed something uniquely special and that is when they decided to take advantage of the opportunity to work with Challenge Coins Plus to create a challenge coin in which:

• One side was an exact replica of their embroidered name patch.

• The other side had a green backdrop and included the organization’s name and a horse with rider galloping freely across the coin

• Black and gold trim, lettering, and edging.
