The perfect summer vacation often involves being outdoors.  From sprawling hills to lush greenery, people are drawn to state parks because of their natural beauty and inexpensive entrance fees.  Where else can you spend the day fishing, hiking, and cooking out under a star-filled sky?

State park gift shops sell a variety of souvenirs but perhaps the most alluring are the lighthouse shaped lapel pins that are found at the top of jewelry spinners and counter displays.  These whimsical pieces of memorabilia catch the eyes of collectors because of their incredible charm and appeal.

Many businesses incorporate lighthouses into their lapel pin designs.  In fact, they are a symbol used by the National Association of Postal Supervisors for conferences and nationwide events.  After consulting with the NAPS, we created blinking light lapel pins for their 2010 National Convention in Orlando, Florida.  Drawing upon their design ideas, we were able to come up with impressive artwork that accurately depicted the Association, its ideals, and the event being attended.  The soft enamel lapel pins included information and symbols unique to the Association as well as marked an important date in its personal history.

Lighthouse Lapel Pins Examples

Lapel pins range in size, shape, color, and style.  We have included some examples of lighthouse pins to demonstrate their versatility:

One is Die Struck with a gemstone.  Die Struck lapel pins are incredibly popular with groups and organization because they are timeless.  Crafted in a variety of finishes—Gold, Silver, Brass, and Copper, these lapel pins signify accomplishment and tradition.

The other is Soft Enamel that is void of any wording or identifying information.  This type of lighthouse lapel pin is commonly found for sale in gift shops around the world.  Attaching these products to cardstock increases their perceived value and makes it easier to present them to collectors that are looking for the perfect memento to add to their collection.

Why Choose Lighthouse Lapel Pins?

There are a number of reasons why lighthouse lapel pins appeal to collectors.  Here are a few to consider:

  • Lighthouse lapel pins are small and unlike other types of keepsakes, take up very little room.
  • Lighthouse lapel pins are portable and are easy to secure to a bag or piece of clothing.
  • Lighthouse lapel pins are the type of keepsake with high value.  You can purchase several and know that they will last for years.
  • Lighthouse lapel pins help mark important events even more than photographs and souvenir t-shirts.

A perfect ending to a trip includes a visit to a gift shop.  When considering what type of items to sell, think about the interest in lighthouse lapel pins.  Not only will your customers thank you for carrying something with high sentimental value, they will buy extras to bring back to all of their family members and friends.
